A Cohesive Approach to Energy Security
We are dedicated to developing a multi-sector systems architecture for the U.S. energy grid to withstand disruption from cyber or physical attack or natural hazards. The Center for Resilient Energy Security Systems (CRESS) is a national consortium of academic, industry, and federal enterprise partners dedicated to the security and resilience of the nation’s energy systems.
Our unique approach will address a lack of systems integration in energy source transition, grid demand, distributed energy, and hazardous and explosive materials, through a cohesive overlay of expertise in energy systems security with disciplinary experts in key energy technology areas:
CRESS is developing tools and designs that span multi sectors and are resilient against both cyber and physical attack.
CRESS is working to develop models of the interactions among cyber, physical, and human components to detect anomalies in the energy supply chain.
CRESS is establishing a work-ready workforce skilled in energy infrastructure security and resilience across all job categories, ready to address the needs of our infrastructure, today.
